School Food Recovery

Forty percent of all food in America is wasted. Schools are no exception. 
In fact, it is estimated students across the country throw away over one billion unopened and unpeeled food items each year. Click Here to learn more about what you can you do to change this.
The Food Conservation Alliance has partnered with schools and agencies across the state to change this. In partnership with Title IV, Part A, we have created the Florida School Food Access Toolkit to assist schools in developing programs.

Thanks to the Bill Emerson Act and USDA endorsement, schools are encouraged to implement share tables and donate remaining items to non-profit 501c3 food pantries and charities.
